The Aereo-Plain Band recorded 80ish reels of music for the Steam Powered Aereo-Plain sessions. We all know the 40 minutes that John Hartford on guitar, banjo, and vocals, Norman Blake on guitar and mandolin, Tut Taylor on dobro, mandolin, and mandola, Vassar Clements on fiddle and mandocello, and Randy Scruggs on electric bass released in 1971, but what about the rest of it? Rounder Records put together the CD only answer in 2002 and in August 2026 Heady Wax Fiends & Real Gone Music are bringing it to vinyl for the very first time.
 
The source material was mastered for vinyl by Clint Holley at Well Made Music before they cut the lacquers. Our friends at Gotta Groove Records handled the natural vinyl pressing.
