Often called Rounder 0044, The New South is a landmark bluegrass album built on J.D. Crowe’s banjo and the brief but influential 1975 lineup. Their performances at Lexington’s Red Slipper Lounge and on the festival circuit helped shape a sound that still resonates with bluegrass players.
